Residente a Gron, aveva ricoperto per tre legislature ruoli amministrativi a Sospirolo, collaborando con i sindaci Massimo Tegner e Renato Moro. Co-titolare della ditta Da Rold Barp, aveva dato lavoro a oltre cento persone. Barp si era opposto fermamente alla costruzione di una centralina idroelettrica in Valle del Mis. Lascia la moglie, due figli e nipoti.<\/p>\n
