Il 18 settembre 2000, durante il trasferimento della 64\u00aa Compagnia da Bassano del Grappa al Cadore, un autocarro militare si ribalt\u00f2 nei pressi di Salce coinvolgendo due mezzi civili: il bilancio fu di 28 feriti e tre vittime, tra cui i due giovani Alpini. La comunit\u00e0 locale si mobilit\u00f2 subito in soccorso, dando prova di grande solidariet\u00e0. Una lapide ricorda da allora il luogo dell\u2019incidente, meta annuale di commemorazione. In occasione del venticinquesimo anniversario, una corona d\u2019alloro \u00e8 stata deposta al Monumento ai Caduti della Caserma Salsa \u2013 D\u2019Angelo di Belluno, sede del 7\u00b0 Reggimento.
